We can create applications that display interactive digital maps. We know, we hate the word “app” too! What does it even mean? Well, for what it’s worth, it is an abbreviation for “web application.” Basically it’s a piece of software that can run through a web browser or offline on your computer, and on a smartphone phone, tablet or other electronic devices. Web map apps are easy ways to share your interactive map with a broad audience of users. Are there way too many pointless apps out there? Yes. Are there also a lot of really cool and useful apps that make our lives easier? Also yes.
